Grandma...
...we love you (do you remember that song?)
When the folk at "Creative Craft World" set their latest challenge - a card for Granny (or Granddad) - the song that was performed by the St. Winifred's School Choir popped into my head and it's been there ever since LOL
The lemon/aqua/teal colour scheme put in another appearance. Background PP is from the Tatty Teddy paper stack by DoCrafts and then there is some layering using aqual and cream CS.
I thought this little miss from LOTV would be perfect for a card for a Grandma - after all, don't Grannies love flowers? She has been coloured using Copic pens.
The sentiment 'Luff you Grandma...' has been printed on the PC.

Back to School...
...is a very popular theme at the moment.
The folk over at "TOMIC" have set this theme for their challenge #13 and the folk at "Totally Tilda" have gone for the same theme for their challenge #30.
I decided to make a mini book rather than a card as this would be easier to incorporate all the elements set by the folk at 'TOMIC' - school related Magnolia images (I had to improvise here...I used my ornament Tilda and coloured the ornament to look like an apple), ruler, booknotes, school words (study, classroom, locker) and some metal (plenty of paperclips LOL).
This is quite a photo heavy post.

I've been using up stash again. In January last year Artbase had a big clear-out sale and I picked up a lot of kits from classes/crops that I had attended previously. This was a BoBunny class kit (I had attended the class approx 18 months before and had enjoyed the inking and style of the project) - at sale price I thought it would be great to do another one...and it has sat in my stash ever since **hohum - rollseyes**. However, it has been perfect for these challenges so I've made a minibook using the materials from the kit and added a Tilda. Hope you like it................

For their Challenge #58 they want a recipe of 3 Designer papers / 2 Flowers / 1 Ribbon used to create a card - and of course a Kenny K image.
The PPs are from the Papermania 'Persimmon Collection' by DoCrafts - a range that is probably a couple of years old now.
Satin dot ribbon and paper flowers (held on with brads) complete the ingredients.
...and here is my Kenny K image - I still think this is my favourite of the ones that I have - she is a delight to colour.

What do you do with...
...all your 'makes'?
That was the question Annette West (Voodoo Vixen) asked when she left a lovely comment recently.
You might remember this - pics I took on 31 July 11. These were just the cards that I had made since I started taking part in challenges and as could be clearly seen - I needed a bigger basket LOL
This is the basket I had and to give you an idea of size, the card sat on the corner is a 6x6 sq.
Well I got a bigger basket and it is more than double the size of the first one...
...but that hasn't lasted long LOL...things are starting to overflow already.
You can see from this shot that there are quite a few cards in there.
What do you do?
Do you only enter challenges/make items that will provide you with a finished item for a specific event/occasion or are you like me - I like to enter challenges to see what I can come up with given the criteria set and this often involves trying something new...an aspect of crafting that I always love to try.
One of the reasons I don't often put sentiments on or in my cards is so that I can customise them when I come to use them. However, I know that there are a lot of cards that I have made over recent weeks that I will struggle to part with and I would find it hard to give some of these cards to folk who I know wouldn't really appreciate them.
Should I sell them?
Easier said than done - where would I start? I don't tend to sell my cards because I just don't know what to charge for them and would folk be willing to pay when they can pop down to the local branch of 'Card Factory' and get 10 for £1. Yes I know, there is a big difference between the two but are folk willing to fork out for that difference. Then there would be the worry that folk wouldn't think them good enough for what was being asked.
So what do you do...do you make just for a specific purpose, do you sell...or are you like me...growing your own craft mountain of finished cards and fast running out of storage for them..............................

Revisiting...
...3 past challenges.
Over at "Less is More" the week 30 challenge is a recipe where the ingredients are 3 previous challenges. I decided to use: -
Week 14 - White on White
Week 15 - Embossing
Week 25 - Button or Ribbon
However, I found that this also covered a few other past challenges...Week 16 - butterflies and Week 29 - things that move...are just a couple that came to mind.
Using smooth white CS I created the base card which I then embossed with a folder called "Butterfly kisses".
I cut two x-Cut butterflies and attached them as part of the mass of butterflies flying up the card.
Some white organza ribbon was tied in a bow at the base of the card.
I thought this challenge was going to be really difficult but when I thought about it everything seemed to fall into place.

The bingo line I chose to use was - Gems/Flowers/Ribbon & Lace
The base card is smooth white CS and all the PPs are scraps from my stash so I have no idea what makes/designs they are (sorry). I used this little Tilda bearing gifts as she can be coloured to suit any occasion (this time I've used fairly traditional Christmas colours)and there is lace on her pinny. Colouring is with Copics.
The image and matt were cut using the largest two scalloped ovals from my Nesties. I used some satin edged organza ribbon that blends with the colours on the PPs and some self-adhesive gems.
The flowers are a single spray of roses mixed with some white fronds (Martha Stewart punch).
Another Christmas card to add to my collection LOL
