A bit of Summer...

...sparkle.

Challenge #56 at "KKKG" wants to see a bit of Summer Sparkle involving glitter and gems. So here is my card with some ice glitter and a few lavender pearls.
Doesn't this miss have some attitude about her even though she is standing there with an ice-cream cone.
A bit of glitz on the ice-cream and the background paper was created using inks and Cosmic shimmer sprays.
The blooms are a mix of mauves and white with a few lavender pearls added.
The white roses were given a bit of glitz too with some ice stickles.

Hope this meets the requirements of the challenge.......................

...Doghouse!

The Crafty Elf has found that she is ordering/spending rather a lot because of the things that she is coming across whilst blog hopping - sound familiar?

So she has designed a 'button' to share with those folk she thinks are to blame for encouraging her to part with more of her hard earned cash - all by way of a bit of fun.
Guess what...she has kindly presented me with not one but two of these buttons - I'm not guilty - honest LOL

She would love folk to participate in this bit of fun so if there is someone you feel has caused you to buy more stash than you intended, why not award them one of these buttons.

I think I'd better head back to the doghouse LOL...............................

Simply Christmas...

...a very simple, one layer card.

Challenge 33 over at "CHNC" asked for a 'Clean & Simple' Christmas card - so here it is...
I used Post-its to mask an area of the card and then applied 'old paper' & 'antique linen' ink to create a background.
The image is a Clarity stamp that I double stamped in 'frayed burlap'. The sentiment is from a DoCrafts set of Christmas Urban stamps.
As it is a Christmas card I had to add a bit of bling to give it a frosty feel.

I would also like to enter this as a second entry for "Less is More".................

Holiday Fun...

...just not the holiday most would expect at this time of year LOL

The folk over at "Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar" say they were thinking of Summer holidays when they set the challenge (week 119) but even some of the DT opted for Christmas/Winter.

I went for my Jolly Tilda once again and this is the card I created...
The PPs are from this year's Christmas range 'Noel' from DoCrafts. I also did a fair bit of matting on this card.
A small spray of blooms at the top corner and...
...a larger spray at the bottom.

Everything on this card is fairly traditional - Red/White/Green & gold colours and even Santa puts in an appearance.

With the weather the way it has been, this seemed like a far more appropriate holiday to be considering LOL.............................

Playing with ink...

...a brayer and some post-its.

For the Week 28 challenge over at "Less is More" the theme is 'One layer' using inks and the folk over at "Scrapology" (Aug Card challenge) want to see a landscape using brayering - they also want to see a sun.

So using some Post-its to create a frame and the sun I made this card.
I couldn't find my circle punch so I cut around a 2p to mask the area where the sun was to be. Then using a 'Mountain Rose' Adirondack ink pad I brayered my card - gradually building up the colour. The mask for the sun was removed and a further layer was run across with the brayer to create a hazy look.
The stamps are some that I borrowed from a friend and I have no idea what make they are - I just liked the effect they created when I stamped over the background with black Stazon ink.

The Post-it note frame mask was removed and a piece of black ribbon attached just to finish things off. Hope you like it........................

Light it up...

...with Christmas lights; that is.

The current challenge over at "Winter Wonderland" wants to see a card with lights on...in the image, or the papers or the embellishments - this is my card.
I used a digi image of some Christmas lights and matted them onto some 'leather look' red CS.
The lights have been 'blinged-up' a bit by highlighting them with a Stardust Gel pen.
Some green ribbon with red embroidered dots was run across the card underneath the sentiment panel.

I decided to keep the card fairly clean and simple as I didn't have any suitable embellishments to go with the image - I don't think flowers would have worked but the ribbon is just enough to trim the card.

...with a touch of Faux stitching.

Challenge 109 at "LOTV" is a Thank You card whilst the folk at "The Paper Shelter" want to see a bit of stitching (Real or Faux) for their Challenge #26.

I thought I'd try using some brighter summery colours and this is what I came up with...
A 6x6 white card blank - top half covered with Papermania Blue collection PP and the bottom half some golden yellow Core-dination CS from a 6x6 'Brights' stack. The yellow card has been punched along the edge using the Martha Stewart Doily border punch.
The sentiment was what was asked for and this has been matt & layered on the PP & CS then attached to the card using 3D foam.
The blooms have been kept very simple on this card and as you can see there is 'faux' running stitch around both the main card and the image panel.
My little LOTV miss has been coloured with Copics in shades to match in with the PP & CS used.

The LOTV has an extended closing date (Wed 31 Aug) so if you want to play along you still have plenty of time.....................
