The Snow came...

...and then the ice.

Snow always looks so pretty when it first falls...

The view from the station platform.

The trees along the side of the platform.

A C2C train wearing its snazzy yellow 'nose' cover to try and stop the coupling mechanism freezing.

View from the train.

Oh how colourful London looked during the Summer of 2012 - now look...

The Orbit, all shut up and un-loved for probably another year.

The grey London skyline.

...and the Aquatic Centre is slowly disappearing (slowly being the opperative word here) so that won't see any sporting activity until the seating has been redone.

No flags in bright colours...no crowds of happy, excited people...gosh, is it really less than 6 months since all the excitement?

As I said, snow makes things look very different..................................

Doesn't it just, first snow is lovely and pretty, but a few days later, it's washed out and grey and usually turned to ice making things chaotic! Will watch with anticipation to see what the venues for the olympics are actually used for. The Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield which was built for the World Student Games is being threated with being demolished - and they still haven't finished paying for it!

Snow looks absolutely lovely from this safe distance. ;)

I like the way snow brings out the details in landscapes. I'm much happier looking at pictures of it than being out in it!
