Prima Paintables...
...what fun.
I have had a fab day playing with Inktense washes, seed beads, blooms and lace. The project at this month's Artbase crop was a LO using the Prima paintable sheets - it was great. Although everyone had the same base sheet by the end of the day there wasn't any that looked the same.
Margaret showed us a number of different ways to colour the backgrounds - wash, sponge, salting. I stuck with a basic wash using the Iris Blue Inktense pencil.
Blooms and lace were tinted with the wash.
Seed beads in glossy accents created the heart embelishment.
All the colouring was with Intense pencils blended with water.
Some pearl acrylic paint was used for the swirls and silver pen for the twigs.
It was a lovely peaceful session sitting colouring the sheets however we wanted...something I will have another go at.
The photo I used was from my grandma's mini album of my Mum & Dad's wedding. I was worried that it might be a bit small but unfortunately my scanner decided to pack up so I wasn't able to do a bigger version - still, I think with the painting on the background it was probably about the right size afterall.
Thank you Margaret & Emma for another lovely day...............

No Pressure...
...yeah...right...LOL
Here you go Annette - what I've done so far with the goodies from Ally Pally.
The floral decoupage toppers were quick and easy to do so I now have them ready to put onto some cards. The boxes were made from CS that I bought - wanted to see what a couple of the types of card would look like as boxes (think the cream linen-look card will only be suitable for smaller boxes).
Using the envelope templates that I got, I've made a couple of fancy envelopes but I also used the tip given by the demonstrator...by using the templates for the smaller envelopes it is possible to make matching cards. Made a matching lavender set - just need to decorate them now.
At Christmas I stamped several sheets of Forever Friends images that I coloured with my Inktense pencils to use on my Christmas cards - I had a sheet left that I hadn't coloured so I used it to try out my Copic pens. I am impressed with the finish the pens give - think I will need to build up my range of colours...
Think I'm gonna have lots of fun playing with my goodies....................

Great Day...
...at Ally Pally.
Despite a bit of a detour getting there due to poor diversion signs, Mum and I had a fab day at the BSSBS at Ally Pally.
Here are some pics of what I got...
Penny Black stamps, envelope templates, card toppers, DST, decoupage scissors, mirri card, mini clear stamps, card selection and some Copic pens.
Can't wait to get stuck in and have a play...............

Oops I did it...
...AGAIN!!!
As usual when making cards for a specific event I was so busy getting them finished, written and delivered that I forgot to take pics (dohhhhh).
I do it every time **rollseyes** I complete the cards and seal the envelopes then realise I haven't taken any pics so I thought I'd better take a pic of the latest batch of cards I've just finished.
Luckily these were just random cards so they have been added to my card stock. A lot of them were decoupage kits that I've been playing with.
I've also been playing with some different shapes - the diamond pop-up card was the result of a thread on UKS that had links to instructions for various 'diamond top' cards. I've tried a few of the others - they just need decorating. I also had a play at making a spinny card after seeing a number of demos on the TV.
I really must try to remember to photograph my cards - I sent 3 birthday and delivered 4 Easter cards, none of which I have pics of - I will try harder LOL.............

Happy Easter...
...to one and all.
The lovely Cal (Hysteri-Cal on UKS - link to her blog over on the right) posted this link over on UKS and I think it is a wonderful cheery way to brighten up a very dull Easter Sunday morning...

Thank you Cal.
Okay folks, hope you're sitting comfortably - enjoy..............

Do me a Favour...
...or two, or three - DOZEN!!!!
My niece has now bought the chocs for the favour boxes so yesterday I made a start on them. As you can see...it was production line time - again!!!
I already had the card cut ready so it was just a case of scoring, folding, sticking and attaching the ribbon...
The pile grew steadily, and I finished the lot around lunchtime today.
As I didn't have the chocs here I haven't been able to finish the boxes completely - the filling and tying of bows will be a job for my niece...a job she is really looking forward to LOL
I was able to complete one box as I brought home a couple of chocs to make sure they would fit...
The list of things to do is reducing nicely.................

RSVP?...
...of course it was going to be an acceptance.
Here is the card that I have made to accept my invite to the wedding...
The base card is patterned pearl finish card stock with matching envelope. The insert is printed and the edges cut with decal scissors. The wrap is embossed vellum using the large folder from the Sizzix Wedding 2 embossing set - highlighted with a few heart shape gems. The whole thing finished off with burgandy ribbon.
Another thing completed and off the "to-do" list...................

Please meet...
...Russell.
Isn't he cute - and no, he is not mine.
The groom to be decided the bride to be (my niece) needed a dog to keep her company whilst he is away on his tour of duty. They have investigated possible 'failed' guide dogs, dogs for the deaf...retired police dogs, army dogs etc. and have had no success at all. Then I believe a friend saw a notice at the local vets asking for new homes for a couple of dogs (owners have both been made unemployed and tight finances meant they couldn't keep their dogs). My niece went along to see the dogs and fell in love with Russell.
He is such a sweetie - a Jack Russell cross - and he thinks he is a lot bigger than he is (he stood up to a German Shepherd the other day and the GS backed off).
Welcome to the family Russell, I know Kristy has already fallen in love with you..............
