Christmas crafting...

...on a slightly larger scale.

When a colleague approaches you and says they need your expertise, the first things that normally go through my head are - they need to get a printer/photocopier unjammed...they want to check what would be the best postal system to use for a particular task...or they need to know which of my staff would be best suited to help them with something. I don't normally think that the request will be craft related...

However, on Tuesday morning I received a request to decorate a box and an area of the office for the purpose of a festive foodbank.

So after despatching them to purchase some wrapping paper, snow and decorations - I set to...
...I started with just the large box but within a couple of hours it was clear that wouldn't be enough, so a couple more boxes were added...
...some posters/leaflets backed with red CS were scattered about...
...and some "cutlery envelopes" came in handy for the shopping lists...
...by the afternoon of the first day an additional box was added...
...and some more shopping lists.

The decorations were kept fairly simple with some red & white garlands.

People in the office have taken to the foodbank idea very well and it looks like we will be requiring a car to deliver everything to the local authority on Friday.

Only problem is...I've now been asked to decorate some hampers for the Christmas raffle and have also had some tentative requests for a bit of gift wrapping. I think I will have to decline - I haven't even gotten myself organised to do my own, let alone everyone else's...............................................

I help out at my local Food Bank and I know how useful all this will be. Well done to your office for taking the initiative to start a collection.
