...clever.
I actually remembered to take a photo of this scarf before I packaged it...
...I am loving this poodle yarn (not cheap but one ball = one scarf) and it is so soft. It also knits up in just under an hour. Once bundled into a box...
...you don't know what it is until you open the package. Although my niece seems to have forgotten my tendency to save boxes for this purpose as she thought she had been given a box of coffee - Doh!
One little lady who had no problem unwrapping her gifts was my Sister's dog; Lexi. She was happily ignoring all the folk in the room and played with all her new toys - including monkey...
...as you can see, monkey is nearly as big as Lexi but that did not stop her...
...she was 'loving' her monkey by cuddling it in a choke hold and using it like a pillow.
This was a gift to me from Santa...
...I love it. A mug, tray and coaster - perfect for holding a cuppa & treat on my desk.
I stopped off at my local garden centre on the way to Mum's yesterday as there were a couple of plant pot holders that I wanted to pick up - the place was heaving. Folk were grabbing all the Christmas stuff that had been reduced to 50% of its original price - some families had trolley loads and the queues at the tills were a nightmare (no till set aside for quick purchases). As I had managed to park and find what I wanted I stuck it out but nearly 30mins in a queue seemed silly when I came to hand over my £5 for two pot holders...folk around me were spending several 100s of £ on trees, decorations & lights - you could hear the 'plastic' groaning (I dread to think what some folk will be faced with when their credit card bills come through in the New Year).
I have not 'hit' the sales this year and do not intend to - yesterday I queued and that is the only queuing I intend to do...there is nothing I need that desperately that will tempt me back..................

I'm rubbish at going to the sales...I hate the 'jumble sale' look of it all and just end up not buying anyhting because I don't want the fight or the wait!
I had a beautiful glass jug from LLJ a for Christmas and she'd wrapped it in a Russell Hobbs kettle box...it took me a minute, I have to say! Hope you're enjoying the hol. Xx
Lovely gifts, your Santa set is so cute. I bought a couple of things in the sales on Christmas Eve, no queues at all.
Well believe it or not I went to our local Garden Centre to buy a Christmas tree that I had admired before Christmas (artificial). Sadly it was not and will not be reduced so I came home empty handed.... but fortunately no queuing.
I do love seeing people's faces when they open a present and encounter a box like your coffee one....
I'm not very good at sales, mainly because I can't stand the mess lol. I'm forever picking up clothes of the floors and putting them back on hangers lol
Oh I am so glad I am not the only one that uses boxes for gift wrapping... it must be the scrapper in us... so much nicer to have a square or rectangle to wrap and it keeps people guessing! LOL
Love the poodle wool... will now have to google it as a nice learned to knit while staying with my Mum over Christmas and I know she would have fun with that!
Nope I'm not into queuing either - I'm not desperate for something I won't use until next year either, so i've stayed put up to now LOL! Loving the Santa gift - gorgeous and a scarf in under an hour did I hear you right?
Very cool scarf! Love the photos of the dog. Happy New Year to you!
what fabulous pictures and i'm loving that yarn. i remember the days of my knitting and crocheting... until my fingers cramped terribly and then found crafting... which, surprisingly, doesn't make my fingers ache.
however, there are so many gorgeous crochet patterns out there, i may have to give it another try... especially on some awesome tops!
anyway... keep up your gorgeous work and wish you very blessed and fruitful 2015.
hugs :)
