My "Groovi"...

...little Gingerbread house.

I have had the Groovi Gingerbread house border plate since it was launched but had only ever used the little Gingerbread men (when decorating my "Twas the Night before Christmas" book).

I decided it was about time it was put to some use so grabbed some parchment and here was the result...
...the tiles on the roof seemed to take for ever...
...but the colouring of the candy-canes was pretty quick & easy...
...nothing too fancy...
...but plenty of glitter on the roof to give a frosty effect.

The house is only tiny but will be perfect sitting on the mantelpiece at Christmas with a battery tealight inside.

You would not believe how long it has taken to complete this post - two weeks ago the pictures wouldn't load and I gave up in frustration. Broadband speeds in this area have been awful and today it has taken 3 attempts to actually get into Blogger. Let's hope things improve......................................

Oh my, your little house is just SO adorable Toni! I can see that it would take a long time to do the roof but it is pretty spectacular and definitely worth all your efforts! Apologies for being 'missing', I have just scrolled through the posts I missed, Lunch Lady Jan has really come up trumps again, she is such a lovely lady! Anne xx

this is gorgeous!!! now aren't you glad you FINALLY did it????

you SHOULD use that xyron. i am totally lost without mine. i make my own church labels, decorative envelope labels, file labels... everything that needs a sticky back! the xyron 500 was my first craft gift from a friend when i first started crafting in 2002! i order my cartridges directly from xyron as they have the best prices. you got to michaels or hobby lobby and each refill is $25 USD. at xyron i can get 4 for $40 and free shipping. way better deal!

you can now make your own little gingerbread house village!

school started on the 18th here - which, in my opinion, is far too early especially since they go 1/2 days until the 2d week of sept what a waste. let them enjoy summer!

our local fair - THE SANDWICH FAIR - begins Sept 6-10 and THAT is the official end of summer. i don't go because it has become way too expensive. what used to be $3 to get in is now $12; to treat yourself to a funnel cake (which i love) used to be $3 is now $8 and a fresh lemonade is $8. highway robbery if you ask me. then there's all the other goodies you can buy. i refuse to pay $45 for a sweatshirt when i can get it for $5 at walmart! not to mention, it's all on a dirt ground and very, VERY hard to walk. but, it's been a local thing for 150 yrs. and alot of people still go. you would like i would go - at least for a few hours - AND the fact that i only live 3 miles from the fair grounds! but... nope.... it'll be just a regular week of sept. to me.

have a great week~

hugs :)

Your adorable gingerbread house will be perfect with a tea light on the mantle. It is so cute and so wonderful in parchment. It will give you a smile every time you walk by!

I've had one of those, Neet from WOYWW cut it out and sent the pieces to me which I put together, it was great fun! I really love the sparkly shingles on the roof 💖
