We sadly said "Goodbye" to...

...another craft shop here in South Essex.

In2crafting at Wickford, closed their doors at 3pm on Monday 26 October 2015.

John, Rene & Michelle will be missed and I hope the future holds something good for them.

In2crafting had been running for just over 11 years - originally starting at the Alpha Garden Centre and then 5 1/2 years ago relocating to the shop at Ladygate in Wickford town centre.

Demo days were always busy - this one was for Woodware stamps...

...being shown fun ways with paper piecing and the use of card candi.

Unfortunately, like many high streets these days, Wickford does not have a very wide range of shops (many premises are empty) and this has resulted in an ever decreasing level of 'footfall'.

I wish John, Rene & Michelle all the very best for wherever their journey takes them...........................

It is always sad when a local shop closes, the internet has a lot to answer for! I was gutted with my reasonably local craft shop, Artist Trading Post closed, a while back, there is nothing like going in and just looking and touching real products.... xx

yeah, i feel your pain. we have stores closing here too... and always the ones we really like... go figure! what a different world we live in.

ugh on the powerlines being down. one thing i definitely don't miss is the long commute i had to work (2 hrs. one way), tho i sure do miss the people!

have a great week. stay dry and stay safe.
