Sooooooooooooooo...

...Christmas is over for another year.

New Year has been seen in...and many folk will be heading back to work tomorrow (if they were lucky enough not to have to work last week).

For some of you the Christmas decs are already packed away - for others, that is a task that will be completed over the next few days.

I am one that will be amongst the 'to doers' but one thing I have done is take down the Christmas cards. I had a few really lovely handmade ones this year which will find their way into my keepsake box but what do I do with these...
...I don't want to just throw them away as some are really lovely (and probably cost a pretty penny or two) but every year I say I am going to make use of them in my crafting and every year after a token effort they get put to one side or given to the local Brownies to make use of.

I want to make more use of them this year. I have noticed that between Mum's cards & mine there are a number of duplicates so I could do a bit of decoupage. There are some unusual shaped ones that could be used to decorate scrapbook pages and I'm sure that with a bit of matting/layering/embellishment I could use most of the rest - so why don't I?

Motivation!!! or rather lack of...

What do you do with your cards? If you have some ideas to share please let me know - I would be most grateful to see some inspiration that will get me motivated......................................

I've seen others make little gift boxes from them and there just darling, I have vowed to do that this year!
Have fun Toni what ever you decide to do with them!!

Hi Toni

A few years ago, I used the like a photo and created card 'layouts' to reuse them the following year, but I've not done that in the last couple of years because I've developed my own quirky card style - but now you've got me thinking again!

hope you had a good Christmas and New year

hugs

Can't wait to see what you come up with Toni. When I was a brownie (hahaha - so long ago) we used to make little boxes with them but I can't remember how. I'm sure I could find in on the internet somewhere. I'm like you, I hate to throw them out.
