How do you colour in...

...your images?

I don't mean; do you use pens, pencils, inks, paints etc. I mean; do you just colour an image as and when you want one or are you like me and 'batch' colour...

I'm not the most confident of stampers, never have been, so I have to be in the mood for a stamping session. This can be helped along by the addition of new stamps to my collection (I'm usually eager to try out my new 'toys'...hehe).
Once I have a selection of images stamped I add them to my 'colouring folder' so that I have a good selection of images to play with as and when I have the time or the inclination to sit down for some colouring...
...that is unless my pens start running out LOL
I like to stamp (or print in the case of digi stamps) a multiple of the same image so that I can try out different colour combinations. In the case of my little kissing twosome, I liked the blue & brown so I decided to go for a sheet of the same combo.
Even when there is a colour that I particularly like I try to play around with different ways of using that colour.
Sometimes I will colour just some aspects of an image so that I have a partial item that can be customised for specific use or I'll work through the images colouring one part on each before moving on to the next bit (I quite often colour all the flesh parts on a whole sheet).
Other times I'll complete an image at a time...
...despite my problems with pens running out last night I did manage to finish this Gorjuss image. This was my very first "Gorjuss" so I'll have to have a play at how I'm actually going to use her.

I love knowing that I have a collection of images that I can pick up at any time I fancy having a colouring session (pens willing...LOL).

So please do tell me - How do you colour in? I really would love to know.................................

what a great idea ... I love your idea of having them all in a folder. I just need to sort out how to store my Promarkers ... I do love your colouring.

That's a good idea to stamp and colour in batches. I tend to do them one at a time when I need an image. Love the Gorjuss image. :D

At the moment I have been colouring as needed. Though saying that I am trying to get some to sell, so need to start batch stamping/colouring to get a wriggle on.

I love how you do this - I just do some colouring as and when - but am tempted with doing something similar now I've seen what you do - think I need some proper pens though I only have half a dozen copics and so most cards end up being blue LOL! Hope you are having a great day!

Oh thats a fab post Toni, I love your colouring ideas, especially the folder idea. I dont often colour images but when i do i do it in batches too and then cut them up and add them to my box of images to use. Might just have to get a folder like yours now hehe.

I tend to colour as and when I need the image... but I am going to start to colour sheets as you do, I love the idea of seeing all the different colour ways on the same sheet. Your colouring is amazing, I am going to have to invest in some copic markers next time I am in the UK, they look so much better than pencil, or regular pens.

What a wonderful Idea Toni, if I could just get organised enough to do this lol I hold my hands up, I am a panic colouror in! I stamp, colour in all in one go when I need an image, now batch stamping would be a great idea, hmmmmmmmmm where did I file those poly pockets............

I colour as I need an image too, but my colouring is nowhere near as good as yours.
