I'm not one for...

..."doing" the January sales.

Don't get me wrong - I like a bargain just as much as anyone but I really can't be doing with that frantic scramble that seems to take place in January every year.

I had already 'done' the Pinnacle Crafts sale last Sunday and that was pretty manic just because of the numbers in the shop (it did calm down a bit in the afternoon and wasn't so bad on the Monday) - I wasn't after the sale stuff so much but I did want to grab some of the new DoCrafts bits so I could have a play.

Yesterday I had agreed to take Mum into Basildon (despite the pouring rain) - I pretty much left her to her own devices and I just had a browse & wander...and ended up with these sale goodies.
The tapestry table runner was out of Past Times and is beautifully finished - so much nicer than the one that I nearly bought before Christmas for 3x the price. The little packet contains a Santa garland - old fashioned style Santas...I thought I could possibly dismantle this and use the individual pieces.
However, my prize purchase at a huge £1.49 (reduced originally from £9.99 to £2.99) was a lovely Christmas book containing traditional stories, prayers, carols & poems and illustrated in an antiqued Victorian style.
The pictures are beautiful (although my photography isn't LOL).
...and guess what is included in the book - my favourite poem "T'was the Night Before Christmas".

That £1.49 purchase made contending with the crowds and rain well worth the effort. I am one very happy little bunny **very big grin**.........................

Love your purchases. I have one of those garlands and it sits on a window sill every year - very pretty. I am green with envy over your other buys - must go and have a look in my local Past Times.
