I might just be getting...

...the hang of this.

Although I did have to have two goes at getting something I thought would be suitable for this weeks "Less is More" challenge LOL

The challenge was a colour theme - Shades of Blue. This is my entry for this week.

I started with this collection of goodies...
...3 blue ink pads, a 6x6" white card blank and my tapestry stamps "Queen Anne's Lace & Leaves".
The tapestry stamp set is made up of 4 stamps that can be combined to create an image or decoration; small maple leaf, mini maple leaf, Queen Ann's lace and a mini fruit leaf.
This was the resulting card. You will notice that there was no sign of a border punch in my first photo...ummm...well I decided to try and print the sentiment straight onto the card and you know me and techy stuff - I didn't quite get it where I wanted it; handy Fiskars Threading water punch to the rescue LOL
This pic shows in more detail the build-up of the design using the stamps. The ink colours used are all from Ranger; Jenni Bowlin's "Spice Tin" (very dark navy), Adirondack in "Pool" (turquoise) and "Stream" (a sort of deep peacock blue).

Now I did mention that it took me two goes to arrive at a card that I thought would be suitable.

Here was my first attempt...
I definitely suffered from 'Leaky elbow syndrome' on this one as it didn't come out anything like I pictured in my head. I don't think it is Clean & Simple enough - too fussy.
I like the embossing and the colour combination. I even like the general idea of the tumbling tiles but overall, to me, it doesn't work for this challenge.

It was interesting playing around with ideas for this one and that is what I'm enjoying with the challenges. Why not have a go yourselves. There is lots of inspiration on the challenge sites and you might find a new technique or idea that you wouldn't have thought of using...go on; you know you want to...................

You've done a super job with the tapestry stamps. I think it would have worked better centrally on a square card, however.
Thank you very much

I'm in awe that you made two cards for the one challenge - you go girl! I can hardly get one made! Tomorrow, I have to seal my driveway, finish painting the walls but not until of course, I make a card.(shhhhh - don't tell anyone) LOL ;) So much to do, so little time!
