...well I think we can say that's it for this year.
Unless it decides to pour down before midnight I think we can declare today a 'rain-free' day so the "40 days" has been broken.
I can honestly say I didn't expect this when I saw the sky this morning - lots of nasty dark clouds but it has in fact turned into a really lovely day.
I'll try to remember next year and we can all keep an eye on the weather and see if we get any closer to the 'wive's tale'.
